NAUTICAL EDUCATION SERIES: THE MISSIONS OF THE COAST GUARD AND NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION
Friday, March 3 | 6 p.m.
We're thrilled to welcome back Vice Admiral Sandy Stosz to discuss Antarctica and the combined missions of the U.S. Coast Guard and the National Science Foundation.
Leadership in the Polar Regions: A Global Perspective
As the polar regions become more accessible, understanding them is increasingly important. The Arctic and Antarctic are perhaps the last global frontiers, rich in natural resources and of strategic value, yet basically ungoverned. The U.S. is a leader in polar scientific research, and also a leader as one of the 8 Arctic nations and a signatory to the Antarctic treaty. Vice Admiral Sandy Stosz will speak about some of the issues associated with the polar regions, and her experiences performing U.S. Coast Guard missions in the Polar Regions.
Join us for dinner and a fascinating conversation.
