Chicago Yacht Club Recognized as Top 10 U.S. Yacht Club

Chicago, IL

Earlier this month, Platinum Clubs of America released its 2016-18 list of the Top Yacht Clubs in America. The Platinum Clubs of America offers the most respected acknowledgment in the private club industry and ranks the top 5% of private clubs in the United States. More than 3,000 Club General Managers, Owners and Presidents vote in the biennial election. For the second time in two years, Chicago Yacht Club was ranked in the top 10 U.S. yacht clubs, moving up two places to 7th place overall.

According to General Manager, Dwight Jenson, moving up the list is confirmation that the Club is on its way to becoming recognized internationally as one of the best yacht clubs in the world. “It’s an honor to see our Club moving up the list and to be in this position, voted by our peers. We remain committed to our members and believe our club’s strategic focus on boating and related amenities, including hosting of high-level national and international regattas, are keys to our success,” said Jenson. Greg Miarecki, Commodore of the Club, added that “[w]e are pleased to receive this outstanding recognition, alongside some of the world’s best yacht clubs.”

Voting takes place over a 90-day period and Platinum Clubs are judged based on seven criteria including amenities and facilities, staff and service, quality of membership, governance and fiscal management, overall experience and flexibility to adapt to a changing member market.
