U.S. SAILING OFFSHORE SAFETY AT SEA SEMINAR WITH HANDS ON TRAINING

Day One: Chicago Yacht Club Monroe Station
Day Two: Evanston YWCA
SAFETY AT SEA WITH HANDS ON TRAINING OVERVIEW:
Chicago Yacht Club is hosting SAS with Hands On Training in early November in Chicago. The session includes an additional day (Saturday) for intense hands on practice to educate sailors with professional leadership. Moderated and taught by Ralf Stietz, current President of USMMA foundation, Americas Cup Veteran, former Kings Point Coach. The Training session will be supported by participation of the Coast Guard, CFD and other industry experts.
The Curriculum is certified by US Sailing, with special attention to conditions and challenges of sailing in the Great Lakes.

Please note: Safety at Sea Certification (also referred to as Day One) is required to participate in this session (also referred to as Day Two). Included in the fee will be a code for the US Sailing online course and a World Sailing Certificate a $110 value.

SEMINAR SCHEDULE:
Saturday, November 3rd (9am - 3pm) Chicago Yacht Club Monroe: Heavy weather prep, how to repack a PFD, how to use AIS, how to run an efficient safety practice, and additional SAS lessons. LUNCH AND CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST PROVIDED.
Sunday, November 4th (9am-3:30 PM) YWCA Evanston and Chicago Yacht Club Belmont: In pool session, difference between and how to use flares, fighting onboard fires, radio communication, in-person discussion with U.S. Coast Guard

CERTIFICATION:
Participants who complete the SAS on Sunday will receive International Offshore Safety at Sea with Hands On Training certification from US Sailing and World Sailing. Certification is good for five years from the date of the course.

REGISTRATION:
Two day hands on session $325.
Breakfast (Saturday) and Lunch included in aforementioned costs.
