The Smith Regatta is sponsored by the Chicago Yacht Club. A yearly competition for young sailors who aim to become old salts, it is named for one of Chicago’s own, Thomas R. Smith, a long-time competitive racer himself and veteran member of the Club. Smith’s legacy is that of “always - and honorably - Going to Win.”
