Membership Director

The Club is seeking a bright, energetic, and creative professional to serve as its Membership Director. The Director will be a sales professional responsible for sourcing, qualifying, and enrolling new Members. They also nurture relationships with existing Members that encourage them to invite their friends and colleagues to join. The successful candidate will be well-spoken, poised, have a proven track record of networking and organizational skills and a comfort level with a focused boating membership that are a diverse group of professionals. Sales experience in private clubs, hotels or real estate is a definite plus. Computer proficiency and experience with sales software as well as administrative duties and supervision is a required. This person is self-motivated, creative, and charismatic. As the face of the club, the Membership Director will set the tone for providing exceptional hospitality and be able to implement membership strategies that support a changing demographic.  Please send resume along to Jenson@chicagoyachtclub.org

Qualifications:

  • Flexibility to work weekends/evenings and special club events and regattas. Knowledge of boating and water sports is definitely a plus!

Bartenders

Chicago Yacht Club is seeking experienced Full time and Part Time bartenders.  We are a private yacht club located in downtown Chicago looking to hire experienced bartenders. Chicago Yacht Club is one of the oldest and most respected yacht clubs in the world.  Our main bar and banquets need bartenders with a willingness to provide outstanding service to our members and their guests.  We are looking for friendly and motivated seasonal employees that have a flexible schedule.  Must be able to work evening and weekend hours. Must be able to work in a fast paced, high energy environment and be a team player. Must have good communication skills, have the ability to lift and carry weight of access up to 50 lbs. Ideal applicant must have P.O.S. experience additional consideration given to those with Private Club experience. Drug testing is required.

Responsibilities:
Set up and prepare tables before service. Take care of all side-work necessary. Take and serve orders. Demonstrate genuine hospitality while greeting and establishing positive relationships with members and guests throughout the club Constantly delivering exceptional dining experiences Stock, organize, and maintain restaurant equipment, storage, dining room, and terraces Stock and maintain all snack areas Setup and breakdown of bar Keep the dining rooms, bars, and terraces clean, safe, and presentable at all times while always providing friendly and attentive service Excel in the delivery of food and beverages to members and guests Enter orders in POS system.

Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age or older One year experience as a Bartender or private clubs Wine and spirit knowledge is a plus. Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work effectively within a team. Must have a professional demeanor. Servers

Chicago Yacht Club is currently seeking experienced servers to join our Food and Beverage team. Chicago Yacht Club is one of the oldest and most respected yacht clubs in the world. Dining rooms and banquets need food and beverage professionals with a willingness to provide outstanding service to our members and their guests.  We are looking for friendly and motivated employees that have a flexible schedule to work including weekends and Holidays. Must be able to work in a fast-paced high energy environment and be a team player.  Full time and Part time positions available.  Basset Certification preferred.  Competitive base pay. Drug testing is mandatory. About: We are a World Class Private Yacht club; dedicated to giving our members excellent food, beverage, and service. Duties and Responsibilities:

Must be at least 21 years of age or older Must have upbeat, outgoing positive attitude Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with a team Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time Willingness to learn Previous experience a plus Experience in private clubs is a plus Must be available to work nights, weekends, Club events, and most Holidays Must possess a true desire to satisfy the needs of members and guests in a fast-paced environment Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight up to 50 lbs. Receptionist / Hostess

Chicago Yacht Club is looking for a Front Desk Receptionist/Hostess Position. Chicago Yacht Club is one of the oldest and most respected yacht clubs in the world. Dining rooms and banquets need food and beverage professionals with a willingness to provide outstanding service to our members and their guests.  This position is seasonal Part Time and must be able to handle a high volume of phone calls, while maintaining a high level of professionalism.  Seeking a person who is pleasant and polished, a self starter with good communication skills and possesses a positive attitude that works well in a team environment!  Must be able to multi-task well.           

Responsibilities:
Greet and direct Members and guests to proper areas by name when possible Answering the telephone and member inquiries Taking Reservations and directing calls Administrative tasks are asked of this position to fill down periods Job Requirements One-year experience as a Receptionist, PBX Operator, Administrative, Concierge or Customer Service Agent Must be proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word. Line Cook

A line cook for the Chicago Yacht Club is a fundamental position in our kitchen, which is primarily responsible for cold food production.  The pantry cook is typically responsible for a particular station, or group of menu items, their proper preparation, set up, and execution. The culinary work in this position must all follow Chicago Yacht Club’s commitments to sustainability and proper health and safety guidelines. Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision. Interact professionally with other employees, members and suppliers. Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments. Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and club departments. Steward
