Adult Powerboat Courses

This hands-on, on-the-water course is for anyone who wants to learn how to safely operate a small motorboat and improve their boathandling skills with training in both the classroom and on the water. The US Coast Guard and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) have approved this course and an increasing number of states have recognized it as meeting their requirements for a state boating safety education certificate. The class is taught on the Chicago Yacht Club's fleet of 17' rigid hull inflatables and the skills you will learn on these boats are transferable to boats of all sizes.

There are no prerequisites for enrolling, but students must be 18 years of age or older.
