Application Process


The average application takes about three to four weeks for completion and approval.  Please keep in mind that the timeline may vary depending on whether or not you have a club sponsor at the time you apply.  If you do not have a Sponsor our Membership Marketing Director, Emily Giaimo is happy to arrange a roundtable meeting for you to meet several Chicago Yacht Club members.

The Admissions Committee meets and reviews membership applications monthly. If your file is approved at the Admissions Committee meeting, you will then be invited to the Prospective Member Admissions Luncheon which generally take place several times each month.   

Following the luncheon, your file will then be submitted to the Board of Directors for consideration at the monthly meeting, which takes place the fourth Tuesday of each month. In the event your file is approved and you are elected into membership, you will be notified within a few days of the Board meeting date. Finally, upon payment of the initiation fee your member signature account will be activated and you may begin using the club.
